Departing from Montreux, spend a full day pushing deep into the Vaudois Alps. From the medieval Château d'Aigle rising above its vineyards to the suspended bridge of the Peak Walk by Tissot at 3,000 metres, this is Switzerland at its most dramatic. Enjoy a comfortable, discreet, and perfectly managed journey to begin or end your trip under the best possible conditions.
Your driver-guide picks you up at your address in Lausanne, Montreux, Bulle, Fribourg or Bern, and points the van toward the Vaudois Alps for a day that climbs from medieval history all the way to the edge of the glacier.
First stop: Aigle, a wine town at the foot of the Alps with a 12th-century castle perched directly above its vineyards. A striking opening image. Those who want to go inside and explore its collections dedicated to wine and viticulture can do so at their own expense, it is well worth the detour.
The road then rises to Leysin, a mountain resort sitting at 1,400 metres above the Rhône Valley. The views over the Alps and Lake Geneva from here already justify the trip, and you have barely begun.
From Leysin, the circuit continues to Les Diablerets, a classic alpine village tucked between peaks. A natural pause to breathe in the mountain air and take in the first clear views of the summits ahead.
Then comes the centrepiece of the day: Glacier 3000. From the Col du Pillon, the cable car carries you to 3,000 metres above sea level, where a glacial world opens up in every direction. On a clear day, the Peak Walk by Tissot, the suspended bridge connecting two mountain peaks, reveals an unbroken panorama stretching from Mont Blanc to the Matterhorn. There are very few places in the Alps where you can stand between those two giants.
Time at the summit is yours to use as you please. The cable car and glacier access are paid directly on site and not included in the circuit price.
Your driver-guide brings you back to your departure point once the day is done.
